Red Rock Canyon School Co-Ed Residential Treatment Center
We believe in the worth and value of each individual teen regardless of the nature of his or her problems. Our teenage treatment center has proven successful in giving back adolescents and youth proper social and
emotion skills to be successful in life. Our youth treatment center helps each struggling teen in our center find the worth and value in themselves. The Therapy program at Red Rock Canyon School is designed to help each struggling teen identify their problem behaviors and build on their internal strengths.
Red Rock Canyon School does not believe in harsh treatment to bring about change. We believe that there is a great child in each one of our students, they just need to learn how to correct the thinking errors that have brought them recent problems. The feel of our program is a therapeutic boarding school. Our biggest concern is to help each child feel safe and significant. Our staff promotes an environment where each teen knows they are valued.
Therapy Model
Red Rock Canyon School uses a multi-therapeutic model. Specific treatment modalities utilized under this model including Group Therapy, Individual Therapy, Substance Abuse Therapy and Family Therapy.
Equine Therapy describes horse therapy as "Equine therapy is the discipline of using horses as a means to provide metaphoric experiences in order to promote emotional growth. The horses provide an excellent way for troubled youth to react when they are otherwise therapy resistant. Equine therapists will usually teach many lessons on ways in which horses learn, react, and follow instructions to the lives of youth themselves."
Our Mission
We understand that adolescence can be a period of turmoil and pain. Our Mission is to provide the structure, unconditional acceptance, parenting, and security that must be present to ensure that quality treatment can occur. In this environment troubled teens can find the courage necessary to make positive changes in their lives and have a future that is full of hope and promise. We help teens identify and build upon their individual strengths which gives them hope for the future, an opportunity for healing, and provides a catalyst for family unity.
Our belief is that as the youth learn and practice personal and social competency, a marvelous chain reaction is set into motion. As their feelings of self-worth grow, they become capable of additional insight into their problems. With this added self-awareness, the youth can change self defeating attitudes and behaviors into character assets. At this point, the process of recovery has truly begun.
